Dylan received a Bachelor’s in Music from the USC Thornton School of Music and a Master’s from the Manhattan School of Music. Both degrees were for piano performance. While at these institutions, Dylan began teaching piano to both music and non-music majors in solo and group settings. Since then, he has taught dozens of students in all styles, from classical to jazz, rock, and pop. His students have ranged from child and adult beginners to advanced students with sights set on professional careers. During this time, Dylan has remained an in-demand pianist in the Los Angeles area, performing regularly for private and public events both as a soloist and collaborator.
Dylan believes in fitting the method to the student, rather than using a single prescribed teaching style for all. He works with his students to best help them achieve their goals in a supportive and positive environment. Whether a student is just beginning or returning to the piano after an extended absence, and whether he or she wishes to tackle the masterpieces of Bach and Beethoven or to learn the latest radio hits, Dylan will create a tailored method best suited to that individual.
